History Of Moses Malunda

Moses Malunda joined the ymca in 1964 through the kitwe ymca mindolo branch, he was initially attracted to the ymca through the game of basketball, but later fell in love with the cause of the ymca which is youth empowerment. He later moved to Kitwe ymca central branch where he rose through the ranks and became board chairperson of Kitwe ymca.

After many years of receiving mentorship in the ymca, he was elected treasurer of zambia ymca and later became president of the zambia ymca in 1976 when the africa alliance of ymcas was launched moses was seconded to represent zambia ymca at the regional level. the following year in 1977 moses malunda became the first youngest person to be elected as vice president of the africa alliance of ymcas due to his distinguished service he was seconded by the africa alliance of ymcas to represent africa at a global stage, the world alliance of ymcas.at the world alliance he served in a number of portfolios and finally rose to the position of chairperson of the world ymca finance and audit committee .after serving his term he stepped down from the global stage but continued to push the ymca agenda at local and regional level.
