CODE4CHANGE PROJECT

The Code4Change Project is a transformative digital skills and innovation initiative implemented by Zambia YMCA in partnership with HeziTech STEM & ICT Hub. The project is designed to equip young people with practical, future-ready skills in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Through a hands-on, project-based approach, Code4Change bridges the gap between theoretical education and real-world application, empowering youth to become creators, innovators, and problem-solvers in the digital economy.

To empower young people with market-relevant digital skills and create pathways for employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation, contributing to sustainable community development.

To build a national ecosystem of youth innovators, where young people are equipped with the skills, tools, and opportunities to shape Zambia’s digital future.

Impact So Far

Since 2022, Zambia YMCA digital skills programmes, including Code4Change, have:

  • Trained 85+ young people in digital and entrepreneurial skills
  • Supported youth to transition into employment, freelancing, and small businesses
  • Directly engaged 250+ learners through training, outreach, and innovation sessions
  • Inspired youth to participate in national and global competitions
  • Created a network of young peer mentors and community trainers
Many beneficiaries are now using their skills to generate income, support their families, and train others, creating a ripple effect of impact.
